When I was growing up in the whispering plains of Idaho, honestly there was very little to do but cook. I thought about food- how it rolled over my tongue, how it could put me to bed... how it could bring us together. I still can imagine my mother humming away in the kitchen, some old Hank Williams, when she would call out "Supper!" and when we raced into that kitchen, the glorious smell of those ribs crashing into us at full force. I remember seeing old Uncle Gary stop by one Tuesday night, and hearing his earthy, rich, laugh bouncing off those kitchen walls, mouth filled with baked potato. When I close my eyes, I can remember even later that night, when Uncle Gary had his way with me in the pantry, grunting rhythmically, and only the musk of those Pinto beans to comfort me as I cried silently...

Apparently recipe pages like this are in this format because of the way google sorts through search results. If you have some long ass shit at the start of your recipe your page is displayed higher up when you google a certain recipe

Get the Chrome extension called Recipe Filter. It's detects recipes on websites and brings up just the recipe.
