Ruth Brown Snyder (March 27, 1895 – January 12, 1928) was an American murderer. Her execution in the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison in 1928 for the murder of her husband, Albert Snyder, was recorded in a well-publicized photograph.
Fun fact: The electric chair doesn’t knock you out. In fact, it does the opposite. All the senses are heightened as a person is shocked to death at 2000 volts in two 60 second bursts. One man who sat in the chair for a brief burst reported his mouth filling with the flavor and sensation of cold peanut butter.

A reporter illegally took this picture via a tiny camera hidden in his pants.
