“I am proud of his candidacy in the lists of Brothers of Italy”: this is how Giorgia Meloni, leader of the party, presented Caio Giulio Cesare Mussolini, descendant of the Duce.
His grandfather was in fact Vittorio Mussolini, son of Benito.
Meloni and Mussolini appear together in a video published on the Facebook profile of the leader of Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy) and filmed at the Eur, the Square Colosseum, one of the buildings designed in Rome during the fascist regime.
“He is a patriot, another important personality on our lists,” says Meloni. He said: “I have served Italy for so many years I would like to continue doing so in Europe”.
Caio Giulio Cesare Mussolini, 51, was an officer in Marina and then a director of Finmeccanica.
In an interview with the Times, he stated that he shared with Fdi the ideas on “regaining sovereignty, protecting our country and the family”.
And in fact, together with Giorgia Meloni, he appeared at the recent Verona Congress on the family.
Gaius Julius Caesar is the third descendant of Mussolini to embark on a political adventure since the post-war period.
Before him it happened to Alessandra (MEP) and Rachele (city councilor in Rome), both daughters of Romano Mussolini, the Duce’s fourth son.

Mussolini's grand-daughter (maybe this kid's mom?) is a senator there. I know this because she got pissed off at Jim Carrey the other day for posting a drawing of her grandfather's corpse on Twitter.

Edit: She is apparently an MEP, not an Italian senator, now, and someone is saying Alessandra is his aunt, not his mom. It's hard to find online, so I'm just gonna believe it.
