That's not really a very apples to apples comparison if you're calculating that off of his entire $151 billion net worth instead of his yearly change in net worth.

People really need to understand that this money is not all just sitting under his mattress. It is held in stocks, and is helping to fund the continuing operation of public companies.

That guy is comparing Bezos's charity giving to his networth to a normal guys charity giving to yearly income.

Bezos gave 2 billion in 2018*, however he didn't give a lot before so this was a significant step up for him.

Given Bezos's 135B net worth this is about 1.4% of his net worth, not a lot but more then the post suggests, also this is net worth which you normally have to divide by +-20 to get an annual earning(for people earning income from capital). So this would be like donating 40 billion or around a quarter of a normal person's income.

That doesn't mean that anyone on earth should be wroth over a billion.
