I could see this backfiring. If I had this when I was in school I would be determined to beat it, and if I did, it would be like getting permission to text and drive.

On highway. Girl behind me was flossing her teeth, and putting on make up. I was ALSO distracted because watching her in mirror.

My highschool did this about 5 or 6 years ago. When the phone went off I would wait until a long straightaway to answer, and the guy running the thing yelled at me that I had to answer immediately.

They seemed to do everything they could to keep people from beating it, and it's probably because what they don't wanna do is have kids leaving thinking "well I never texted while driving before but now I know how to safely do it in moderation"
