People who are proven to have a lied like this should get the same sentence that the accused would’ve got if they’d been found guilty. A false rape claim, even one proven to be fake, can completely ruin someone’s life.
Edit: before someone’s says, I don’t just mean if someone’s accusation can’t be proven cause I know not all rape offences or even most rape cases are prosecuted but in cases where they’ve clearly been proven to have lied then they should get heavy sentences.
And this is why due process of the law is more important than condemning someone the moment they are accused of being a rapist without a second thought.
