This isn't just the heart drained of blood, it's had something else done to it that I can't remember. Someone explained it the last time this was posted the other day.

This is a “ghost heart”. It’s actually scrubbed of all cells other than connective tissues (not just drained of blood). It’s likely a pig’s, not a human’s.

It’s a big step in 3D printed organs.

The ghost heart can then be made into a functioning heart using the recipient’s own cells, in lieu of a transplant from a donor. Besides not having to wait for donor, the heart won’t be rejected after surgery. Incredible work from Texas Heart Institute’s Regenerative Medicine Research labs.

This looks like one of those ghost hearts that they do some kind of wizardry with so they can transplant it into almost anyone. They can do this with hearts, but the dentist still has to use a medieval steel pick to clean my teeth.
