The shooting took place around 1:50 a.m. near the Kenwood area.
Elijah Johnson, 23, was pulled over for a traffic violation and drove away when asked to provide identification.
Johnson abandoned his car and proceeded to flee on foot, which is when K-9 deputy Titan started to chase him. Johnson shot Titan and Sgt. David Stang, who was in his vehicle.
Both Titan and Sgt. Stang were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
Johnson was later found dead with a self inflicted gunshot injury.
