I remember in primary school for school trips a lot of my friends had gameboy. I always dreamed of having one. They never let me play with theirs; fair enough, they brought it for themselves.
Then when I was in high school I begged my brother to buy me a gameboy since he was going to the US (it was cheaper buying it there than in my country). Weeks later he came back with a DS Lite and a couple of games. Back then I didn’t know much about consoles so I was disappointed (never actually told him, I pretended I was excited) until some days later I realized I got the next gen of handhelds.

The days before cellphones not knowing if mom was gonna be 1 or 3 hours late picking you up. Sigh.
