The American justice system is not about justice its about revenge, and that's just sad. If America is a Christian nation some of these people need to re-read their Matt.
Edit: for clarification the justice system is a separate issue from our for profit prison system. The prison industrial complex is taking economic advantage of a character weakness within our nation, and once some people see how much money can be made even at the expense of so much human suffering they are going to do what they can to maintain that profit
