I drove through Scenic SD on a road trip to Badlands Nation Park like 10 years ago. The entire town was for sale, buildings and land, for like a half million dollars. My buddy and I stopped by the ‘gas’ station and there was a guy asleep in a patio chair. All the stuff on the shelves was years old and of course there was no gas. Odd place for sure.

I grew up primarily in Oklahoma and while it was never my favorite place to live, you cannot deny the beauty it held. Being able to see for miles was always so awe inspiring. The sunsets are still, by far, some of the most vibrant I've witnessed in my 30+ years of life.

I loved driving through South Dakota. It's insane how it changes immediately as soon as you cross the Missouri River.
