My roommate hasn’t paid his part of the rent in 3 months, there’s a weird smell coming from his room that I can’t pinpoint (it’s making the whole entire apartment stink), and I’m pretty sure he up and left so I have to clean it now. This isn’t even all of the mess.

I had a roommate like this once. You should’ve seen his bathroom - pubic hair fucking everywhere. One day I got so fed up (he was gone for weeks, couldn’t get in touch with him) so I put on gloves and cleaned his whole side of the place, thoroughly. He did eventually come back and never once mentioned that his room/bathroom were magically spotless.

Edit: another interesting gem - all of the dishes/glassware in our apartment were owned by me. He would use them, leave them dirty, and keep them in his room with dirty shit caked into them for weeks until I stumbled upon them. One time I asked him where all of my dishes kept disappearing to, and he claimed he didn’t know. One day I got so fed up that I opened the door to his room when he was gone to investigate, and behold, there they all were. So I honestly started the clean-up in order to get some of my dinnerware back.. even though I wish I could have just afforded to buy all new shit, but couldn’t at the time.

I had a roommate like this. The day that we were turning in the keys, he goes "wait, so who's supposed to help me with this" and opens his door to reveal pretty much this scene exactly.

I'm like bruh, nobody. It's not like moving out was a surprise. You're almost goddamn 30.
