My grandpa was "kidnapped" by Pretty Boy Floyd. According to him, his aunt was Floyd's girlfriend. My grandpa was 3 or 4 at the time and she wanted to see her baby nephew. So they drove by the house and he happened to be playing in the front yard. So they did what any sane person would do. They snatched him up and drove off. Apparently they brought him around and bought him candy and treats. This went on for 3 days, during which my grandpa said he got to play with Floyd's unloaded gun. Then they just drove him home and he ran inside the house.
I have no way of knowing if this is a true story, but it has been told in our family all my life.
