Fight for the Future applauds todayâs announcement as a major milestone in the fight to reinstate strong open Internet protections
Today, net neutrality supporters in both the House and Senate have introduced the âSave the Internet Actâ to overturn the FCCâs unpopular net neutrality repeal, and reinstate strong consumer protections that will stop Internet service providers from picking and choosing the winners and losers of the Internet by blocking, throttling, and charging users new fees.
Responding to todayâs news, Fight for the Future Deputy Director Evan Greer (pronouns: she/her) had this to say:
âPeople from across the political spectrum are still furious about the FCCâs corrupt repeal of net neutrality. Now itâs time to channel that outrage into action. Put simply, the Save the Internet Act is the only real net neutrality bill out there. This is a simple up or down vote on the future of the Internet and our most basic rights in the digital age. Lawmakers have nowhere to hide. From now until the bill hits the floor for a vote, we will organize Internet users en masse to demand that every single member of Congress to co-sponsor this legislation and will update our congressional âscoreboardâ so people know whether their elected officials are representing them or shilling for cable and phone companies.
Telecom lobbyists and their friends in Congress seem to think that Internet users are incredibly gullible. Theyâve introduced three separate pieces of âtrojan horseâ legislation in a cynical attempt to muddy the waters and confuse the public. But we wonât be fooled, and neither will the hundreds of millions of people who weâve mobilized to fight for real net neutrality.
The Save the Internet Act is one of the few pieces of Congressional legislation that actually does what it says in the title. The Internet is going to come down like a political hammer on any lawmaker who fails to cosponsor it.â

They should have just gone full Perry Cox and called it the Bring Back the Porn Act.

How is Ajit Pai still in charge?
EDIT: My first silver, thank you stranger!
P.S it's really sad how badly broken the political system is seen to be (not a U.S citizen so i am not qualified to comment on whether it is or isn't, just an observation on general public opinion)

The name is a little over dramatic, but since I still don't trust any of the ISPs, if all this does is repeal the changes then I am all for it.
