Sansa was supposed to be annoying in the first seasons. She was a child of the summer and her dream in life was to marry a prince and become a queen like in the fairytales. Her whole character arc was that loss of innocence with realizing the fairytales are fake and then turning into her own version of a badass. Season 7 Sansa is an incredible politician and diplomat - something that Jon is not.
