Guys, they spent so much on friends because it brings them a shit ton of subscription fees. Your opinion on the show doesn't really matter, if you want more content on Netflix its probably for the best they are keeping around the shows that bring them in the cash.

If I remember correctly about spending $100 million to keep friends on Netflix is that in one year Netflix made billions. They saw that a lot of their customers are still watching friends and if even 0.5% of the people who have Netflix are watching it because of that show. It makes sense to pay 0.5% of their profits to renew their contract.
