If you think about it, this documentary crew really went above and beyond. Crazy hours, following Dunder Mifflinites all over the country and beyond, working for nine years before a single episode aired!
Fun fact I always share when Brian comes up in conversation:
I used to be friends with the wife of the actual boom operator for The Office. Her husband’s name is Brian. The character is named after the actual boom operator.
He also had a fun appearance on the show. When Pam was at her daughter’s ballet performance, there was a guy who told Pam to put her phone away. That’s the real Brian.
Edit to add: I’m not friends anymore with “real Brian’s” wife, because we lost contact over the years. Nothing crazy or dramatic. They were super nice people!
