And that action very likely permanently ended the clandestine/combat careers of everyone in the photo. I mentioned it in another thread but OPSEC is literally everything for those guys. I had a friend's husband who was in one of the SEAL teams and they do NOT talk about anything. Not even their spouses know anything.
Even if you're not SF OPSEC is huge. You don't want other governments knowing that you have military training. These guys grow their hair out and dress in civilian clothes and get placed in foreign service posts and diplomatic deployments to provide security and intelligence gathering capabilities. That's all useless if the country you're going to has you on a list. Once these guys rotate back they're going to be stuck stateside doing training for other guys... and that's about it. No more clandestine anything.
Such a fucking waste for nothing. I can't imagine the despair you would feel. You spend your entire adult life training for one of the most elite groups in the world that takes years of progressive training to get up to speed with and it's all ended because our fat fuck of a president can't keep his mouth shut.
