I hope you like long, rigorous walks and repetitive throwing. Those dogs are amazing, but they require a ton of activity. You'll probably lose twenty pounds.

Dude...you are in so much trouble. That is a wonderful dog, smart, sweet and loyal.

Also, smart, devious, restless, intelligent, sneaky, energetic, resourceful and did I mention pretty dang smart.

She will make your life wonderful. However, please go do training with her. She needs a firm and consistent handler or she will make you crazy. Go learn together and as a family. It is a great bonding experience for all and so very needed.

Ps. She is absolutely adorable. Jealous of you all.

I suggest checking out the wiki on /r/dogtraining and /r/puppy101 some great info there to help you get started on the right track. Posting questions here is a great way to get advice.

Once she's vaccinated make sure to join a positive reinforcement puppy training class, the socialization is essential. Even before she can go out walking, you should carry her around the places she will go in day to day life. I cannot emphasise how important socialization is to have a happy dog.

Edit: first gold, thanks!
