This is great and all, and I do feel we are progressing as a whole and efforts like the tweet above are helping.
But I’ve worked at places where if I was gay I would keep that more confidential than ultra top secret, for my own safety and at risk of losing my job if not my life.
I have also worked at places and still do where if people could hide even their race and gender, they totally would.
I don’t judge any gay person for not coming out, shit can be dangerous. Be honest with yourself, but fuck society, and place your personal safety above being “honest with the public.”
