I once was with some Germans in Penn Station, we bought some beers and they gave it to us in the brown paper bags and these guys thought it was the funniest thing around. They were delighted
Got drunk in a bar on the north coast of N Ireland a few years back and one of the locals was far, far, far beyond hammered. I asked the bartender how much it takes to cut someone off and she looked at me like I was crazy. “Why would I stop him if he’s paying and having a good time?”
Things are certainly different here in the states.
