When I was little, I would always sit in my mother's raised flower bed. She got pretty annoyed about it because I kept killing her flowers so one day she took some of her potted Red Barrel cacti and planted them in the flower bed. She thought I would see them, get the message, and never sit there again. Unfortunately, I did not see them and sat right on them.
It was an excruciating 2 hour+ process to get all the little spines removed from my butt. To this day whenever I walk passed a red barrel cactus I give it a VERY wide berth.
