I think before we get to the discussion of homophobia, is it really that hard to just leave people the fuck alone? My thought is, if they aren’t bothering anyone or committing a crime, what other people do in their private lives isn’t my business.

This strategy has yet to fail me.

Edit: I’m aware that at certain parts of the world homosexuality is a crime. The point I was trying to get across is what consenting adults do behind closed doors isn’t anyone else’s business. So I guess another way to say that is if no one is being hurt, then mind yours.

This applies to so many things. Racist people didn't wake up one day and decide "I hate everyone who isn't the same colour as me." Sexist people don't just take a shit, and "Oops looks like I just flushed away my respect for women." But this isn't too excuse it too, we have to take a look at ourselves. Question why we act and treat others the way we do. It's the only way to progress as a society.
