I know this will sound stupid - so I never ask - but does it take long exposures to see the Milky Way or can it be seen with the naked eye in the absence of ambient light and clouds? I've never lived in or been to a place where I could see this and I'm dying to, but I don't want to chase a "white elephant." If I can, where do I go? I live in Florida...
