Anthem Alpha Steamer Loses All His EA Origin Games After Breaking NDA Despite Warning

Authored by gearnuke.com and submitted by LordofWhore

Anthem is currently undergoing a closed alpha which is under strict NDA. Someone was foolish enough to try to stream it and ended up losing all his games.

Anthem producer Mark Darrah has already warned against the potential consequence of breaking NDA in a tweet. This also relates to talking about the state of the Anthem Alpha saying things like how the connection is not working for you to play the demo.

And I’m seeing some chatter about connectivity issues to the servers.

1. This is one of the primary purposes of the test.

2. You are actually in violation of your NDA if you are publicly discussing issues you are having. — Mark Darrah (@BioMarkDarrah) December 8, 2018

The streamer started the game while he was live streaming it all on Twitch. It was a rather quick job from EA who managed to push some buttons on their side that led to the crash of the Origin app on his PC. He forcefully closed it through Task Manager and then restarted it only to find out that his whole library is gone including Anthem.

Anthem will be officially released on February 22, 2019, but there will be an early access demo in 2019 before it officially launches as well. This closed alpha is more of a server and stress test which was open to sign-ups a while back.

If you are one of the users who has been invited to test it, we recommend to stay silent and avoid breaking the NDA. Just enjoy the game and report any bugs that you encounter during this alpha test.

Anthem will launch on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is being developed by Bioware and will be published by EA.

Lmao.

The NDA wasn’t even that long to read and EA gave multiple emails detailing what you can and cant do with the Alpha. Some people are just dumb.

I think one thing that everyone needs to consider is that EA can likely rightfully sue him for a lot more than his Origin library is probably worth for breaking an NDA. If they're just revoking his account and not pursuing legal action he should count his blessings and move on.

Sounds to me like this method was the fastest at getting the stream offline, while they concoct a stern message to the streamer about whatever consequences was in the NDA for breaking it.

The video linked in the article from LiveFails is from today, so it's probably a few days before the verdict lands.
