In the hunt for fall foliage this year, my friend Ben and I went searching around the Bear Lake area. A short scramble up the side of the hill lead us into a giant patch of golden aspens. From the little window in the trees, you could look out onto the lake and across to Longs Peak.
The sky that morning was clear as a bell, so there was no crazy sunrise color in the sky, but who needs a dazzling sunrise when you're surrounded by yellow, orange, and red aspen trees.

Is this the same, generally packed bear lake? If so you got amazing timing and a wonderful shot!
