Reminds me of when I turned 8 I was having a birthday party at a Chuck-E-Cheese (kids pizza place with loads of arcade games) I invited all of my friends about 8 people. The party started and an hour passed of just waiting for someone to show up I remember tearing up at the fact thinking nobody would come

Then one person showed up I actually hugged him and then we proceeded to play anything we wanted as we practically had the place to ourselves still friends with the same dude today we go to college together we are friends for life

When I was sixteen I was working at a pizza place and a big family came in with a little girl around 6 or 7 years old. They brought balloons and a cake and I overheard the girl telling her mom about all of the kids she invited. They had ordered about 6 pizzas but told me not to start making them yet. I just kinda stood around waiting for the kids to show up so I could start their pizzas. About 45 minutes went by and suddenly the little girl started SOBBING. Not one single kid showed up to her bday party. To this day it’s one of the saddest things I’ve ever witnessed.

For my 9th birthday I had a pool party in my neighborhood and nobody that I invited showed up ha ha. Finally some girl I distantly knew who lived close to me came to swim so I asked if she wanted to play and eat some cake. My mom also handed out cake to the guys playing basketball nearby and they sang me happy birthday.

Always felt a little sad about it until I realized via Reddit how common it is for no one to show up to a bday party.
