Are we not going to talk about the fact that he’s going to replace it with “a mature replica tree”? What exactly is that, some sort of plastic abomination? How do fake trees become mature?

In my city, the housing developers would be fined several hundred thousand dollars and then their building permits would be revoked. You can't even cut down trees in your own yard without going through the proper legal proceedings and even then you have to prove that it's a problem, ie dead/rotting/obstructing services.

We really like trees.
