I remember going over my boys house in elementary. Ok so I grew up poor and before my dad died, him and my mom's relationship was starting to fade so they argued a lot.
Anyways, I went over my boys house, and I remember his dad took us to the store and said get some snacks. So like I normally would I picked 1 thing that was $1 and waited by the register for them, they both come back with a bunch of shit and are like "that's all you want?". So I got 1 more thing and came back, and his dad was like "You're gonna be here the whole weekend I'm pretty sure you're gonna want more than a pack of Skittles and a sweet tea for the whole weekend, get what you want". Like I legit almost cried in the store y'all that shit was so foreign to me even though it sounds simple.
Second thing that got me was his parents got along just fine. They cracked jokes, I mean they were full on belly laughing at each other's shit. And going to sleep at night you could just hear them laughing, not arguing because they think the kids are asleep.
After that I used to always go to his house almost every day just because it was like a 2nd family after a while. Haven't seen him in 3 years since going to college man, ngl I miss my bro.
EDIT : I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY LOGGED INTO MY PLAYSTATION ACCOUNT ON THE PS MESSENGER APP AND SENT HIM A MESSAGE, IMMA KEEP YALL UPDATED IF HE RESPONDS. HE APPARENTLY HASNT BEEN ONLINE IN 9 DAYS
I swear.... sometimes I feel like their lives are a bigger lie than my own.
I have a friend whose family play instruments.....every night. Even the baby plays with the harmonica or the triangle. I just sat there in awe; like how the fuck is everyone just....calm?
