Source: My heart. Measured with Apple Watch Series 4.

Data visualization with Cardiogram App, and annotations added quickly (and sloppily) in Preview.

I'm the Music Director of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra in Arizona. Tonight we finished our annual run of Nutcracker performances. The Apple Activity App also shows I burned 935 Total Calories during the 2-hour performance. (And this was the second performance of the day!)

EDIT: Since this seems to be a popular post, and I'm getting some questions about what a conductor's life is like, I'll add that I did an AMA all about conducting almost exactly a year ago. (For some reason, I guess I like to post to Reddit in early December!) Sorry the AMA is now archived, so you can't ask any new questions there, but PM me if you think I should do a new one. I've got some free time this week before I do a series of Holiday shows December 13/14 with the Grand Junction Symphony.

You can see the ramping up before act two starts.Did you have to jog to the bathroom a few minutes into the break between one and two? Cool visualization of the passion and how much work it is to do this.

I felt like I could see the scenes happening in my mind's eye - I loved this. I haven't been to the live ballet in years but they were some of my best childhood memories. Thank you for letting me remember and relive them.
