It didn’t bother me how fast he merc’d those other masters, it irked me how terribly it was filmed. I understand Ian McDiarmid was already an aging dude by the time the prequels showed up, so a lightning fast-paced lightsaber battle was out of the question - or rather, it should have been.
They could have made Palpatine super calculated and slow, only striking when he could kill. Instead we got those weird ass cut-aways of a lightsaber streaking across the screen and the Jedi master just slinking out of the shot
