I’m a diabetic and I never knew this. Well I’m glad I live in today where diabetes is easier than ever to manage.

Type 1 for 41 years now. It’s really tough at times but I live an albeit exhausting but normalish life. Almost died at age 3 in 1976 when I was misdiagnosed. Type 1 is a 24/7/365 job but it also keeps me focused. Happy to be alive and a middle aged dude. Life still can really suck for us t1 folks at times but it’s getting better all the time. Much love to my fellow t1 and t2 diabetics and their loved ones . Join one of of the support forums here on Reddit if you need to vent or find a place for support. I was ten when I first met a girl with type 1. I was at a pool party and she was scared that everyone would make fun of her. She had to give herself a shot. We all thought she was so brave. More than twenty years later I don't fear a needle because of her. She took it like no ones business. I can do the same. I still do.
