Got curious so I decided to see what age constitutes being a millennial. Turns out it's any age below that of the old person you ask.

I'm starting to be a little annoyed at the word "millennial" in titles. It's always a dig, as if I should be ashamed of being born in the 80's.

In the 2026 election the generation after millennials will be getting old enough to be a US Congressperson. In 2036 the oldest of the post-millennial generation will be old enough to be president. Meanwhile the youngest Gen-Xers will be around 46 and 56 for those elections respectively.

The average age for representatives in 2018 is 57.8 years and senators is 61.8. The 2032 presidential election would be the last one to require at least a Gen-Xer to be the elected president. The youngest of which would be around 52. There have been 29 US presidents out of 45 who were at least 52 at their inauguration. Yes I know Cleveland served two non-concurrent terms. He was 47 and 55 respectively.

So, while very unlikely, it is possible to not elect anyone from an entire generation.
