Obviously you're just really good friends

Parts of my partner's family don't specifically know we're together, and they seem to always end up being the ones to introduce me to people. After several years it seems to make things increasingly confusing for them.

"This is lone_gravy he's....a roommate...no....a friend..... he's part of the family?"

One time one of them introduced me as an uncle out of nowhere which I thought was hilarious, especially paired with a super bewildered "how does he fit in the puzzle?!" look it came with.

My aunt left the convent with her "roommate" from the convent. They were "roommates" for another 30 years, but according to my family my aunt wasn't gay.

My wife's family thinks that it's normal straight woman behavior for he her aunt to live with her "roommate" for 20+ years and that's nothing's weird about them buying and raising horses together. They are still "just roomates"
