I work outside with people who smoke who refuse to wear sunblock because “of the chemicals.” It’s like, okay, sure, there are chemicals but you’re literally smoking addictive cancer.

My MIL is a chainsmoker who gave herself COPD and cancer, smokes through a throat stoma, but only eats organic, non-GMO foods...and judges us for having fed every child we had Goldfish crackers which contain brominated flour. She's a weirdo.

I had something similar happen to me at a meeting once. A couple days out of rehab I was at a meeting making a cup of coffee. As I went to put sugar in my coffee a woman standing next to me commented, "You know sugar is a drug...". I just gave her a look and said, "Well I'm not spending my rent money to get more sugar...I've got bigger problems than sugar right now". Most of the people who go to meetings are cool, but some of them are just...idk
