50% of the Uber Pool trips I've taken have included some fuckery from the other person in the cab. When I'm considering using Pool, it's not a calculation of money vs time, it's money vs dealing with random shit.
So often people complain because dropping me off is interfering with their ideal route. I can't change the route you crazy people, and even if I could an entitled stranger is not who I'd do it for.
I was once in an Uber pool with a woman who had recently broken her foot. She was sitting in the backseat with her leg propped up on the right seat and her bags and crutches on the left. The front passenger seat had to be pushed up enough to give her “breathing space” and I left it there to be nice.
She asked the driver to only do 30km/hr because the bumps in the road were painful. Taxis and cars stuck behind us kept beeping and she would just encourage him to ignore them. Then when she was done she had the driver come out and help her with the door and her bags. When he got back in the car he apologized to me and I apologized to him for having to deal with that. We both agreed she should have taken an Uber X.
Edit: the speed limit in the city is typically 50km and the driver was usually going 30-40 km so it felt really slow, especially with all the honking horns behind us. He ended up having one of his fares cancel, apparently because he was taking too long to get there.
