I'd agree this is pretty asshole design, mostly because I doubt he had all that much to do with the games. It would be a lot more fitting to advertise his comics or movies.
I could be wrong and he could've had a hand in the mobile games, but I doubt those are what he'd want to be remembered for.
This is being sort of uncouth, but I don't think it fits the intent or spirit of the sub. Being an asshole or misadvertising a product isn't inherently asshole design. In other words, being an asshole by design does not equal asshole design.
