When I was 20 and almost gave myself alcohol poisoning I blacked out hard. I only found out later, what probably saved me a stomach pumping was my boyfriend at the time, early on in my blackout, shoved several fingers down my throat over a trash can and made me throw up the half bottle of Jager I'd downed. That was sweet of him.
I got really sick on holiday with my husband. Like, not wanting to be far from a toilet type of sick. I had utilized the bathroom then went to change into clothes for going out. Part of the ensemble was some leggings.
All of the sudden something hit me and in a moment of fear I ran to the bathroom 20 feet away. Suffice to say, I didn't make it in time.
Without a word my husband wet some towels to clean the floor in the room, grabbed rolls of toilet paper to clean up the floor in the bathroom, turned on the shower for me, helped me out of my clothes, and stood there to make sure I wouldn't pass out or get sick while washing off.
After he helped me dry off, got into bed with me and just held me as whatever wretched bug that hit me so hard passed.
I already knew I married the right man. But damn. His support without question really touched my heart.
