When I worked as a line cook for a regional chain BBQ restaurant I sent corporate an email pretending I was a customer. I said how amazing our dinner experience was and name dropped half the staff and was just over the top in general. My review ended up being used in the new employee training booklet on what legendary service was all about.

Fake reviews were definitely a thing at the KFC I used to work at. We had a minimum quota how many we need per month. Never had a chance to reach it, even with the offer of discounts and free items for people in exchange for a review.

So we got to work. Double printing receipts and such to go to the website and post reviews.

Guess which store was the best rated in the area...
