this is adorable. reminds me of another similar situation where an elderly woman accidentally texted a random teen boy inviting him to thanksgiving dinner and he ended up actually going. i think they were quite a distance from each other too.

I made friends with a 30 y/o on xbox a while back. I was 12, super super nice dude, never asked me to send a pic of my junk or anything. Still friends with him 9 years later.

Edit: I'm 21 now, and I guess here's a little more to share. I met a a couple of people about my own age online too, and one actually had my same first name and lived 1 school away (walking distance) and worked at the same theater I did when I got a job. We met randomly online.

I met a 65 year old guy playing COD2 in 2007. The game was nearly dead, but I still looked for players. We chatted and played for a while. He wasn't very good, but he loved games. He had been through a brutal life experience. His profile had him as "folded, stapled and still kicking" he loved talking about his daughter. He would play Halo 3 with my friends and me. I have not played much Xbox since 2013, I check my profile from pc now, and I saw he has not been online in years. I have no way to check if he is still alive. He was such a cool dude. I know he was crippled when we played. Im pretty sure he passed on. Shout out to Alf from Canada. I never forgot about him.
