Meet Aunt B, a young mini doodle with a very important job. She works for funeral homes, as a comfort dog for people who’ve lost loved ones. Her life is filled with love as she brings love to all. 100/10 for this compassionate woof.

❤️ Every funeral home should offer this as an option.

I've told this story before, so apologies if it sounds familiar to anyone.

In 2009, I broke my leg in a freak sledding accident -- way high up in the hip, I broke the ball, stem, and three fractures along the femur. I'd been through surgery to repair and place titanium rods along the areas of the bone that needed to regrow, and I was staring at 6-8 months of healing, rehabilitation, learning to walk again... not to mention all the time I'd need off work, whether I'd have a job to come back TO, and my financial well-being during the interim. Basically, two tons of worries, all sitting on my shoulders.

And then came the hospital therapy dog, a Golden Retriever. She put her head on my lap and it was like a dam inside me just burst. I cried for so long that I thought I'd never stop. And I felt so very much better when it was all done. I just knew that everything was going to be alright in the end.

I wonder sometimes if that Golden is still around. I know it's 10 years on, and the likelihood is high that she has already passed, but she helped me in ways that I can't quite explain. She was a good girl.
