I spent a lot of time making tons of dumplings last night to freeze and add to my meals for the foreseeable future. I decided to make a lovely bento sampler of them all! From the top, left to right, I have some turkey dumplings steamed in a store-bought wrapper "rosebud style". Then we have two deep-fried gyoza, one pok and one turkey, each in homemade wrappers. The orange one is a tomato-infused homemade wrapper with turkey, and the green is spinach-infused pork; both are pan-fried gyoza. The last two are steamed chicken shumai, one much spicer than the other.

It was a ton of work, but it's really just to practice my technique. It took hours and resulted in a lot of ugly dumplings. (There are the prettiest of the batch.) I got more frustrated with the homemade wrappers than I thought I would, but I learned a lot and I'll be ready to go the next time I take on such a daunting task! I had planned to make some salmon teriyaki ones as well, but ran out of time/patience.

I was thinking about posting some dumplings I made but now they seem inadequate

How does one organize their life enough to schedule in dumpling making! I’m jealous
