That's Jerry West!

AKA The Logo AKA Zeke from Cabin Creek, West was an extremely good basketball player and is commonly ranked Top 20 of all time. Fun fact: the NBA has never publicly admitted that the logo is based off West's image -- but it's one of the league's worst kept secrets.

More on West -- not only was his playing career extremely laden with accolades -- NBA champion, Finals* MVP, 14x All Star (!!!), and an easy HoF lock -- but his career as an NBA front office guy has been just as impressive. West has essentially had a Midas Touch when it comes to assembling championship caliber rosters. He is responsible for creating the Showtime Era Lakers (5 championships), the Shaq/Kobe Lakers (3 championships), and he also had a critical role in creating the current Warriors roster (3 championships and counting)

Jerry West is one of the NBA's greats and it's fitting that it's his silhouette on the league's iconic logo.
