Not too long ago, it became sort of routine to look at an account's age to help determine if was a troll.
For a while, determining an account was created around mid 2015 helped to see if an account was genuine if other troll patterns fit.
But trolls adjusted and there are actually older accounts on Reddit that are either being sold or hacked.
This sort of maneuver helps disguise intent if someone is superficially looking at an account's age.
I've seen quite a few trolls on here over the last six to eight months using 6 or 7 year old accounts.
You can still figure out they are trolls, but you have to dig deeper.
Nobody lurks for 3 years on Reddit and then all of a sudden starts posting 50 to 100 political comments daily. »
