UPDATE: So I asked my neighbor why there was a 'crossbow bolt' stuck in the side of my house. He told me that his dog was being attacked by a 'big-ass raccoon' so he grabbed his crossbow and shot it. Bolt went clean through the raccoon and thunked into my house. You can see a bit of the blood on the flappydoos in the picture.
UPDATE #2: The raccoon was up on a fence while he was standing on his porch so the height of the bolt kind of makes sense.
That happened to us in the apartment we had before my husband and I bought our house. Laying in bed and hear a whoomp. It hit just a few inches from the window we were on the other side of. Cop showed up, snapped it off, and said, "yep, you live in a shithole".
