(19F) I have a genetic disorder and struggle with fine motor control. I have the handwriting of a 6yo normally. After months & months of practicing holding the markers steady & working on my calligraphy, I was able to do this card for my SO’s birthday! (Yes, I know that’s not how the song goes lol.)

Is it EDS by chance? I have that and struggle as well but this is inspiring!

I have EDS too! My employer doesn't know about my medical issues. Yesterday, She joked about making me attend writing classes with the 1st graders. I almost cried then and there but had to pretend I thought it funny. Loosing my job isn't on my wishlist currently.

I looked at my past handwriting recently and balled my eyes out. I was also in a car accident a decade ago that messed me up royally but it's all invisible. So that + EDS made my life hell. I really miss my more legible handwriting.

Most people don't understand, sadly.

Congratulations! My fiance has EDS too, along with the shaky handwriting, and struggles every day with his joints and various pains.

I showed this post to him and he was so proud that you managed to write such beautiful calligraphy! He's been struggling with his EDS and worried about his quality-of-life, and I think you just gave him a bit of hope. :)
