The college I went to had one of these trees right outside the science building. It would drop the fruit on the sidewalks to the main entrance. You could tell who was a freshman by the way they just trudged through fallen fruit instead of doing master level hopscotch to avoid stepping in them.
For what it’s worth, this Ginkgo tree is located in an ancient Buddhist temple at the foot of Zhongnan mountains, near the city of Xi’an, northwestern China.
