My wife and I moved recently to a house with a water view, and lots of boat traffic. I send both of my parents almost daily boat/scenery pictures. I didn't realize how much it meant to them until I stopped, thinking I was boring them. My mom called me up after a day or two and asked why I stopped sending them!
Moral of the story is, text your parents. Even if you think what you send is stupid, chances are it makes their day!
Enjoy the moments you have with your parents, everyone. Some people didn't have the best upbringings, and don't get along with either of their parents.

I send my mom all the mundane stuff no one else will care about but I know she will love it because she loves me
