This look like such an open and closed case when the news first broke. It look like she would face consequences for her poor judgement to say the least.
Now I feel like this is going to be dragged on for months if not years and the punishment is most definitely not going to fit the crime.
I mean, I literally don't even understand what this smear campaign is trying to do. Do the cops/media think most people would be out there thinking, "Oh, well this guy smoked weed! In the privacy of his own home! Clearly he deserved to be murdered!" ?
I'm just really way more confused than angry about this entire story. Like, if they'd found a huge stash of child porn, or a bunch of abused animals in his home, then it's still fucked up that he got killed being in his own home, but at least I could understand people saying, "Well at least this scum is off the streets." But this? I really don't get it.
EDIT: You're right, it probably wasn't just the cops, but mostly the media.
