I’ve always worked in refineries where safety is usually top priority. Now that I’m working commercial I’m amazed at what I’ve seen.

When I was 16, I was a couple floors up on a frame building and I needed to cut out some squares for truss placement or something with a little chainsaw. My boss goes and places a small 2×4 and puts two nails in it against the frame. Now I was used to doing mostly electrical by this time in my life so framing was still new to me, and I say "You sure that will hold me?" He takes out one more nail and puts it into the 2×4 saying nothing. So I man up and stand on this little surface with 3 nails in it high off the ground, pulling on a chainsaw cord, trying to not show any fear to the rest of the guys. P.s. it did support me.

If you're amazed at commercial construction safety just, you'll be blown away by residential, maybe literally.
